谢邀,虽然也不知道为什么邀请我。争取强答一下吧。

北脸是VF Corporation底下最大的一个品牌,当然Timberland, Wrangler, Jansport, Vans, Lee也是他们旗下的。首先搜了一下Statista的database找到,2007年到2014年VF Corporation 的利润如下图:

蓝后,找到了北脸在VF下的官网介绍页面:

里面讲了概况介绍,social channel, strategy and innovation, 产品,sustainability.

其中讲strategy & innovation这页比较有意思,讲了他们怎么刺激需求和根据消费者的需求改变策略。

蓝后,我碰巧翻了翻VF Corporation的10-k For the fiscal year ended January 3, 2015,其中说道:

Its equipment line includes tents, sleeping bags, backpacks and accessories. 很显然,北脸的primary product是户外产品并且target market针对全球而且男女小孩皆宜。premium sporting goods

显然就是那些高端高价的产品了。

然后10-k继续往下翻。。。。对不起。。我们换个文件翻吧。。。10K里只有各个sengment的coalition revenue和整个corporation的Financial statement。

但是不能放弃所以我们继续打开VF Corpration的2014 annual report,这么巧里面有一页是讲北脸的:

是给外人看热闹的嘛,这种只说revenue不说cost的说法就是耍流氓,然而里面写的:

In 2014, when the lines between outdoor, active and lifestyle brands and products continued to blur, The North Face® brand once again demonstrated its strength and positioning as the world’s largest outdoor performance brand.

从上面文件里的自我描述,我强行总结一下他们自我定位是『针对高端(特别高端)专业户外运动员需求提供的户外运动系列产品,以及针对中低端男男女女老老少少lifestyle的普通运动品牌。』

——是不是真的呢?看看他们的市场份额和主要消费群体就知道,所以我又翻回交了不忍心说数字学费才能用的数据库,然后我发现一个中国市场的数据:

——我先查查资料,查不到的话,就先太监吧。

——然后我发现喜闻乐见地跑题了,并没有看到要求关于始祖鸟的对比,我以为题主在问市场定位和消费者定位(手动再见)。
